Utilize local news outlets and social media platforms to interact with the public and disseminate information about current crime and drug trends.
Routinely communicate with Kandiyohi County staff about important issues affecting the day-to-day life of law enforcement officers, including mental health, use of force, and search and seizure laws.
Work towards a cohesive Sheriff’s department by engaging staff in monthly meetings and providing in-house trainings and presenters pertinent to the aspects of the job.
Maintain regular work hours and be consistently available at the sheriff’s office, as well as responding to and maintaining a presence at critical events.
Regularly attend inter-departmental meetings such as the CEE-VI Drug & Gang Task Force, Fire and EMS Departments, City Councils, and Lake Associations throughout Kandiyohi County.
